Hello to You!

Well what a time I have had the last 12 months. It has been just over a year since I made the decision to leave the 'day job', and although it has been at times something of a vertical learning curve, I wouldn't have changed it for the world.

There have been quite a few 'key' points throughout the year.....the first online sale via the website, being at market regularly and meeting lots of lovely people, making many new friends in the market, some of whom I now hold in high regard as 'dear friends', giving talks to ladies groups, organising the De Parys Arts and Crafts Fairs, and last but not least - the three day event of the Victorian market.

All of this for a girl who was told that she couldn't do metal work at 'O' level because she was a 'girl'. My how things have changed.....Thankfully!

Well I do believe that I am now finally living my dream. The 20 years of 'dabbling' with jewellery, the 7 years of focusing on developing my skills as a Precious Metal Clay Artisan (otherwise known as my 'apprenticeship'!) has all paid off.

I am proud of what I have achieved this year, not just the making and selling of my jewellery, but the teaching also, and I plan to be doing this for a very long time. It is still at times a challenge, and also sometimes the learning curve is once again vertical, but that is what life is about - Feeling the Fear and doing it anyway!

And of course I could not have done any of it without the wonderful support and encouragement I have received from my forever supportive husband and daughters.
